Episode 1: "The Coffee Catastrophe"

[K Group HQ – Monday Morning]

Han Ji-won was having that kind of morning—the one where your left heel breaks, your favorite lipstick rolls under the bus, and the elevator door closes just as you arrive.

But nothing could prepare her for what waited on the 21st floor.

“Everyone, this is your new CEO, Kang Min-jun,” said the HR director, nervously gesturing toward the tall, smug man in an absurdly expensive suit holding a non-fat caramel latte like it was a rare artifact.

Ji-won narrowed her eyes. “So that’s the company’s savior? Looks more like someone who got lost on his way to a K-pop shoot.”

Min-jun scanned the room, yawned (literally), and said, “Great. Let’s make some money, people.”

[Later, in the PR office]

“Did he just call marketing ‘the meme team’?” Soo-jin whispered.

“He did,” Ji-won muttered. “And he thought SEO was a brand of sneakers.”

Five minutes later, Min-jun strolled into their department.

“I need a presentation by tomorrow. Something about... rebranding?” he said, plopping into Ji-won’s chair.

“That’s not how chairs work,” she snapped. “And that’s not how branding works.”

“Oh?” he smirked. “You must be the secretary.”

“I’m your assistant manager,” she corrected, smiling sweetly. “And if I was your secretary, you’d be drinking decaf for the rest of your life.”

Min-jun looked amused. “You’ve got guts. I like that.”

She stood. “You’ll like competence more. Let’s hope you find some.”

And with that, Ji-won walked away, leaving Min-jun speechless and slightly impressed.
